Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland I now live and work near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Since 2001, I have developed an independent painting practice.

The figure is central to my work—not simply as the depiction of a person, but as an autonomous presence and counterpart. In the process of painting, the figure gradually moves beyond the individual it initially represents. Something unexpected emerges: a presence that takes shape, gains intensity, and reveals itself through the act of painting.

This presence remains palpable in the finished painting. At times, the figure seems to establish contact with the viewer, or appears to observe the viewer in return. In these moments, the distinction between observer and observed becomes uncertain.
